Welcome to Mrs. Marcelle’s School of Dance!

We’re glad you are here! At The School of Dance we create a positive and safe environment that encourages growth!

Below are our Studio Policies to keep you properly informed. When enrolling your child, you are agreeing to comply with these policies and procedures.

Attendance

Regular attendance is important to each dancer's progress and to the success of class choreography. When enrolling, families are making a commitment to attend classes consistently whenever possible. Tuition is not prorated for missed classes.

It is crucial to note that all dancers aged 7 and above are required to attend the mandatory May classes. Failure to attend any of these classes toward the end of the year may necessitate a placement adjustment for your student's stage performance. Students who miss classes at the end of the season (April-June) or who cannot attend their dress rehearsal may be asked to not participate in the recital, to be fair to the other students and to instructors.

Withdrawals

If your dancer withdraws from Mrs. Marcelle's School of Dance before the dance season ends, we kindly request a 30-day written notice be submitted by email to mrsmarcelleschoolofdance@gmail.com. This advance notice allows us to manage class enrollments and make any necessary adjustments.

As part of the Dance Shoe Rental Program, all rented dance shoes must be returned to the studio on your dancer's last day of class so they may continue to be used in our rental program and benefit future dancers.

Photography/Video Release:

I understand and release to Mrs. Marcelle’s School of Dance the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use, reproduce, and publish photographs and/or videos of my child for editorial, trade, advertising, or any other purpose or manner and medium. I hereby release Mrs. Marcelle’s School of Dance and its owner, administrative staff and instructors from any and all claims, actions, and liability relating to its use of said photographs. Any exception/objection must be submitted via email to mrsmarcelleschoolofdance@gmail.com prior to the start of each season so we can proactively prevent photos/videos from being taken of your child.

Weather Closing Policy

If classes are canceled due to weather or unsafe road conditions, families will receive a text message at least 60 minutes before class begins. Updates will also be posted on our website and social media.

Weather closures are beyond the studio's control, therefore tuition is not refunded or prorated. Students are welcome to request a make-up class.

Watch Week

Watch Week is held during the last week of each month and gives families the opportunity to observe their dancer's progress in class. To help students stay focused and comfortable, we ask that parents and guests observe classes only during this designated week. Please keep in mind that having visitors in the classroom may affect some dancers differently. To maintain a positive and focused learning environment, we kindly ask that conversations be kept to a minimum during class.Thank you for helping us create the best possible experience for all of our dancers!

Student Drop Off & Pick-Up

  • Students should not be dropped at the studio more than 10 minutes before the start time of their class.

  • Students should be picked up promptly following their classes.

  • For safety reasons, we ask our students to wait inside the studio space for their parents or guardians to arrive.

  • In the event of running late, we kindly request that you refrain from interrupting the ongoing class.

Dance Shoe Rental Program

With your initial shoe purchase, your dancer is enrolled in our Dance Shoe Rental Program. As long as your dancer remains enrolled at Mrs. Marcelle's School of Dance, we will exchange their shoes for the next size up at no additional cost whenever they outgrow them. This exclusive program ensures your dancer always has properly fitting dance shoes as they grow and progress in their training. Please note that exchanged shoes are gently used, as they have been previously worn by other dancers. At the end of each dance season, shoe collection bins will be available at our annual recital. Before leaving, dancers should place their dance shoes in the appropriate collection bin. When they return for the next season, they will receive the size that best fits them. If your dancer withdraws from MMSD at any time, we kindly ask that you leave their dance shoes at the studio on their last day of class so they may continue to be used in our rental program and benefit future dancers.
