ABOUT OUR SHOWCASE RECITAL

The School of Dance Showcase Recital is the highlight of our season! We love our show and our goal is to make every dancer feel extra special! It is a very important and exciting event for all our dancers!

We will finish the 2025-2026 Season with an end of the year dance recital. Recital week will take place during June. The School of Dance does not charge a Recital Fee. Performance tickets will be sold prior and at the door of the performance. There must be a $0 balance on your account before recital tickets can be purchased. Participation in the recital is not mandatory, but is highly recommended. Students spend a significant amount of time February-May learning recital choreography, as well as performance etiquette and technique. The Recital is a wonderful opportunity for the dancer to grow in courage and confidence. If you decide to opt out of recital, you can still attend your weekly dance class.

DRESS REHEARSAL: JUNE 16th

  • Dancers need to arrive with hair and makeup done, Skin Color Leotard and tights on. Costumes/shoes ready to put on in their dressing room.

  • We kindly ask that all dancers wear a skin-tone leotard for the production. Since our show takes place at a high school, there are security cameras throughout the building. While we are not certain of their exact locations or whether they are actively in use, we want to ensure that all students and families feel as comfortable as possible, while also remaining respectful of the school staff and facility. Skin-tone leotards provide full coverage and allow dancers to change costumes quickly and confidently.

  • Please discuss with your child's dance teacher to confirm which day they will be performing in the recital. Some dancers will only be performing in one show, while others will be performing both nights. Everyone will attend the same Dress Rehearsal regardless of what night you preform.

  • All dancers are required to wear Suntan tights for both the dress rehearsal and the recital. If needed, please contact your dancer's teacher to request tights for $6.00.

  • You should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the “On Stage” time listed in the below schedules on this page. Please do not arrive at the time listed below otherwise you’ll miss your rehearsal.

  • Parents may sit quietly in the auditorium during rehearsal. No food or drink is allowed in the auditorium.

  • Attendance at the rehearsal is required to perform in the Recital performance(s).

  • Jewelry and bright nail polish should be removed before arriving at the venue. It will not be allowed on stage.

  • Please remember to bring a labeled water bottle and snacks that are mess-free for your dancer. Labeling everything, including costumes and dance shoes, will help us ensure nothing gets misplaced during the event.

  • After your dancer has finished practicing their dance(s) on stage they are free to leave dress rehearsal.

  • During dress rehearsal, some dancers may have downtime between performances. They can bring activities or enjoy watching others perform in the audience. While dress rehearsal may be long, being prepared and viewing it as a fun time for your dancer can make the experience enjoyable for all!

  • During dress rehearsal, parents can escort their dancer to the dressing area. Female guardians only; no men allowed in the dressing rooms. For the recital, only volunteers with badges are permitted backstage for the safety of all our dancers.

Each class has assigned recital performance day(s). Some classes will perform in both shows, some will be assigned to a specific show, and a few classes may be given the option to choose their performance day. Please find your dancer’s class below for their assigned date(s). If your class gets to choose which night they perform, please sign up in class with Mrs. Marcelle so we can keep an accurate count of dancers performing each night.

Tickets:

Tickets will go on sale June 1st. Our recital will be held at the Caldera High School Auditorium, and all seats will be reserved.

Staying for the Entire Show:
We encourage all dancers to stay for the entire Recital and join in the End Finale—a special moment where all students take their final bows together as a dance family. To help our youngest performers, our 3-year-old classes are always scheduled at the beginning of the show, knowing that little ones may get restless in the audience.

Backstage Volunteers:
Our show truly would not happen without the amazing help of our dance families, we are so grateful for you! We can’t wait to work together to make this recital incredible! If you’re volunteering backstage, you’ll still get to see your child perform! 💕 Parents helping behind the scenes will be able to watch from the side of the stage.

Recital Photo & Video Reminder:

During Dress Rehearsal, you are welcome to take as many photos and videos as you’d like! During the actual recital, we kindly ask that you refrain from holding up phones or recording. We will once again have Firefly Media professionally filming the performances, and we’ve noticed that raised phones and hands can become distracting in the final video recordings. We would love for everyone to sit back, relax, and fully enjoy the recital moment with your dancer.

Why We Charge Admission:
Putting on a Recital involves many costs—auditorium rental, scenery and lighting, custodial services, sound and lighting technicians, insurance, printed programs and tickets, and more. Rather than charging a recital fee like many studios, we simply ask that families purchase tickets to help cover these expenses.

Stage Make-Up:
While not required, a little stage make-up is encouraged. Under bright stage lights, facial features can easily be washed out, so make-up helps enhance expressions and stage presence.

Shoe Drop-off Bin:

After your child’s final recital performance—whether it’s on the first or second night—we will have a designated shoe drop-off bin available. Since Mrs. Marcelle provides shoes for next season's classes, we ask that you return any borrowed shoes by placing them in the bin. This helps us ensure all shoes are collected, cleaned, and ready to go for next season.
