May 30th, 2026 | Recital Portrait Day

Dancers will be photographed in their recital costumes for professional portraits.

Each dance class will be assigned a designated portrait time slot. We kindly ask that families do their best to adhere to their scheduled time, as we will be adjusting background colors, lighting, and setup throughout the day to ensure everything is perfectly tailored for both our littlest dancers and our older students. This helps us keep the flow of the day running smoothly and ensures every group gets the best possible photos. If you are unable to make your assigned time slot, please still come when you are able. We want every dancer who wishes to have their picture taken to be included.

Important Reminders for Portrait Day

  • Dancers should arrive with hair and makeup already done. Makeup is not required; however, if your dancer plans to wear makeup on stage, this is a great practice day to try it out. Hair should also be styled exactly how it will be worn for the recital performance. You can find a full breakdown of required hairstyles for each dance on our Recital page.

  • Please have your dancer already in tan tights and a nude leotard upon arrival.

  • All costumes should be hung neatly in a garment bag. While a garment bag is not required, it is strongly encouraged in order to keep costumes in tip-top shape and stage-ready for recital performances.

  • No costumes should be worn to Portrait Day or out of the dance studio prior to photos.

  • Please bring all costume accessories and all required dance shoes for each routine.
