🎄 About our Christmas Recital 🎄
Join us to celebrate the magic of dance this Christmas! We’re excited to announce that The School of Dance will be holding its 3rd annual Christmas Recital. Each class will learn and perform one dance on stage. If you choose not to participate in the Christmas Recital, you are still welcome to attend your weekly dance classes and be part of our Spring Showcase Recital.
The recital will showcase a variety of dance styles, including ballet, tap, hip-hop, and pom. A dress rehearsal for all dancers will be held on December 13th. Please check with your dancer’s teacher to confirm which day your dancer will be performing, as some of our older dancers will be performing in both the Saturday and Sunday shows.
Dress Rehearsal
Date: Saturday, December 13th
Time: 10:00 AM
We will have a dress rehearsal on Saturday, December 13th, starting at 10:00 AM. It is crucial for all performers to attend the dress rehearsal, as it ensures that everything runs smoothly during the actual show. There will be one dress rehearsal. Regardless of which performance you choose to attend, you will participate in this dress rehearsal. Please make sure your dancer arrives with plenty of time to prepare for the rehearsal. Dress Rehearsal is a great practice tool for our dancers to get comfortable on stage. Dress Rehearsal can sometimes feel lengthy, but we assure you that every minute invested will be worth it. For Dress Rehearsal, we kindly request that a parent or guardian be present with your child. Please refrain from dropping off your dancer and leaving unaccompanied.
Entrance: Everyone will enter through the front of the school under the "Gymnasium" sign.
Attire: Bring your dancer in the pajamas they'll wear for the show. No large jewelry. Hair should be styled as specified for each dance; see the guidelines below for details.
We will begin by reviewing the finale at the start of the dress rehearsal, then each dance will go through their routine twice, allowing them to fine-tune their acts and gain confidence in their performance.
After your child has performed their dance on stage twice, you are welcome to depart from the dress rehearsal with your child.
Hydration: Pack a labeled water bottle for your dancer to stay hydrated during the performance and Dress Rehearsal

Recital FAQs:
Can I take photos/ video record my child onstage?
ABSOLUTELY! You are welcome to take pictures and record your dancer(s) on stage! We do ask that you are considerate of other audience members.
Does my child have to stay for the entire Recital show?
We wholeheartedly encourage all our dancers to stay for the entire Recital show. We would love for all of our dancers to take part in the End Finale, which allows students to celebrate as a family and take their final bows together! With that being said our 3 year old classes always preform first because we know they can get a little antsy sitting in the audience. :)
Why do we pay for Recital tickets?
There are a lot of expenses associated with putting on a Recital: auditorium rental, scenery & lighting, custodial fees, sound and light technician, insurance, ticket/program printing, etc. These expenses add up! Without admission fees, the studio would not have the means to put on a yearly show. Many Dance Studios charge a recital fee, but we do not; only the cost of tickets!
Are dancers required to wear make-up for the Recital performance?
It’s not required but we encourage a little “stage make-up”. Dancers wear make-up on stage to enhance their facial features, which can be washed-out under the bright stage lighting.
